At Mellcrest, we have a passion for creating exceptional experiences in the hospitality industry. What began as a small business in 1998 was transformed by Robert Hackman.
Leveraging his business experience as the Managing Director of a public limited company, he recognised the evolving landscape of hotels and their desire to offer guests a unique and luxurious stay, Robert seized the opportunity for growth.
Initially, Mellcrest focused on supplying bathrobes, towels, and slippers. However, our ambition quickly evolved into becoming a one-stop shop for all hotel needs. In 2007, Mellcrest became a family business when Robert's son-in-law, Ben Flatter, joined as the Sales Director. Later followed in 2013 by Robert's daughter, Sally-Anne Hackman. We embrace family spirit, treating all our people as integral members of our extended family.
Today, our head office and distribution centre are conveniently located near the lovely city of St Albans, a thriving transport hub. This advantageous location allows for efficient logistics, benefiting both our own fleet of vehicles and our national carriers. We now proudly supply an extensive range of 1500 products to a diverse customer base, including large nationwide groups, independent hotels, leisure parks, hospitals, health clubs, nursing homes, and educational establishments.
We have taken the policy of 'Adopt a Greener Lifestyle' over the past five years.
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond words. We have installed solar panels in our business centre, reducing our environmental impact and we have sought out a wide range of environmentally friendly products that surpass our customers' expectations.
